Overview:
We are seeking a Quality Inspector to inspect a variety of mechanical parts using measurement equipment and CMM programs to ensure parts meet customer specification.
Essential Job Functions:
- Inspects incoming material by confirming specifications and rejecting unacceptable materials.
- Performs inprocess inspections on parts by confirming specifications and communicates failures to the operator and manager to maintain process control.
- Compares parts to customerprovided drawings and specifications to ensure compliance of dimensions, surface finish, and other quality parameters to maintain process control.
- Performs visual inspections on parts for burrs, nicks, dents, cracks, etc.
- Lays out inspection fixutres to accurately and reliably inspect part dimensions.
- Analyzes part defects to aid in determining root cause of dimensional variations such as fautly machining, assembly procedures, setup, tools, or fixtures.
- Generate NCs / CPAs as required.
- Communicates with coworkers and supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate activities.
- Perform FAIRs and first piece inspections as required.
- Develops and implements CMM programs for complex or high part volume inspections plans.
Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical education or certifications are a plus.
- Proficient in quality inspection techniques.
- Computer literate.
- Attention to detail to identify subtle deviations from specifications.
- Knowledge of quality control processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Familiarity with inspection equipment such as comparators and vision systems, Verniers, micrometers, gage blocks, etc.
- Experience with coordinate measuring machines (CMM) is a plus.
Pay:
$ $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 80 per week
