    Description

    Encore Talent Solutions is seeking an Account Manager- Government for an end client requirement. As a Government Account Manager, you are responsible for driving top-line vertical revenue and profitability goals within the government and public sectors. Your role demands a deep understanding of the intricacies of government including trends, contracts, and procurement processes. You will leverage this expertise to effectively engage with clients, qualify opportunities, and secure product specifications through our manufacturers and architecture & design (A&D) firms. Your ability to foster key client relationships and actively participate in industry-related organizations will be critical to your success.

    Responsibilities

    • Exceed sales targets for bookings, revenue, and Gross Profit within designated government and public sector accounts, both existing and competitive.
    • Develop and implement strategic account plans to expand market share and close high-value deals.
    • Cultivate an extensive knowledge of the client's integrated solutions and advise clients on leveraging these solutions to address their specific needs and challenges.
    • Lead client engagements and projects, delivering measurable value by offering tailored solutions to solve their unique business problems.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and product developments within the contract furniture sector.
    • Drive complex sales efforts, from identification and qualification to cultivation and closure, within assigned accounts.
    • Foster relationships at various levels of client organizations and across different business units.
    • Establish and maintain professional networks with customers, manufacturer representatives, A&D firms, and corporate real estate stakeholders.
    • Facilitate effective communication across departments to streamline business processes.
    • Manage projects through to completion, collaborating closely with design, coordination, and project management teams to deliver successful outcomes for clients.

    Skills & Abilities:

    • Understanding of government operations, including contracts, bid processes, and procurement procedures.
    • Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make strategic decisions and recommendations, including on discounting strategies.
    • Consistently maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
    • Demonstrate exceptional time management and organizational skills.
    • Effectively manage multiple projects concurrently.
    • Proficient in reading floor plans and furniture layouts.
    • Exhibit initiative, dedication, and commitment to achieving business results.
    • Possess strong organizational, business, and financial acumen.
    • Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, both internally and externally.
    • Uphold professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment in all business interactions.
    • Deliver compelling presentations and excel in cold calling.
    • Pay meticulous attention to detail to minimize errors and optimize efficiency.
    • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Exhibit strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.

    Required Education And Experience:

    • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
    • Ideally, 5+ years of sales experience preferably selling to state, local, and federal institutions. Contract furniture industry sales experience is advantageous.
    • Proven track record in developing and executing strategic account plans and closing large revenue deals.
    • Demonstrated ability to build long-term, trusting relationships with stakeholders at various organizational levels.
    • Proficiency in design, CAD/CAP skills, and knowledge of Hedberg and/or Steelcase products is a plus.
