    Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an Clinical Lab Assistant for a Contract assignment with one of our premier Pharmaceutical Services clients in Tucson, AZ.

    KEY SKILLS:

    2 years of Clinical Laboratory experience

    Experience in handle single and multichannel pipettes

    Understanding of good laboratory practices and regulatory compliance

    Responsibilities :

    • Utilizes good documentation practices and follows laboratory safety procedures.
    • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
    • Performs and/or assists in specimen testing.
    • Recognizes, documents, and escalates lab protocol deviations to the CLS or CLS Supervisor.
    • Performs and/or assists in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and quality control procedures.
    • Maintains daily records of laboratory equipment preparation.
    • Maintains and orders equipment/testing supplies.
    • Participates in routine lab maintenance and lab safety inspections.
    • Ability to analyze issues and troubleshoot or escalate, as needed.
    • Leads and/or participates in lab projects under the supervision of a clinical laboratory scientist (CLS) or supervisor while maintaining quality and efficient workflow of daily duties
    • Authors, revises, and reviews SOPs, as needed.
    • Maintains sufficient inventory of laboratory supplies for daily operations.
    • Other duties as assigned by management.


    Required Skills :

    • Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate discipline
    • 2 years related laboratory or medical experience required, including but not limited to performing research and development experiments, specimen processing in a clinical lab, and laboratory assisting in a hospital or reference laboratory setting skills.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, such as word processing and laboratory information systems.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong understanding of good laboratory practices and regulatory compliance.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology.
    • Ability to handle single and multichannel pipettes.
    • Ability to work independently and dependently as a team
    • Ability to work under direct and constant supervision of the Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS).

    Preferred Skills :

    • Prior experience with RNA/DNA extraction.
    • Prior use of LIMS system for sample accessioning, testing, and/or reporting.
