    Job Description Salary:
    $225,000 to $291,000 CAD

    Journal Technologies is seeking an experienced and strategic-minded Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive team and drive our financial success.

    As the CFO, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of our organization, providing strategic financial guidance to the executive team, and ensuring the efficient and effective management of our financial resources.

    You will lead a team of finance professionals, managing and optimizing financial operations, driving financial planning and analysis, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

    The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, deep financial expertise, and a strategic mindset to support our continued growth and success.


    Key Responsibilities:

    Financial Strategy and Planning:
    Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
    Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic priorities.
    Provide financial forecasts and projections to support business decision-making.
    Evaluate financial risks and opportunities, providing recommendations to the executive team.

    Financial Management:


    Proven experience in leading and successfully implementing large-scale software transformation projects within financial operations, demonstrating a deep understanding of both the technological and financial implications.

    The ideal candidate should possess strong project management skills, the ability to drive digital innovation, and a strategic mindset to ensure technology investments are aligned with the company's financial goals and growth strategies.

    Experience with ERP systems, financial modeling tools, and data analytics platforms is highly desirable, along with the capacity to lead cross-functional teams through complex technology transitions.

    Oversee the day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
    Ensure timely and accurate financial statements, regulatory compliance, and tax filings.
    Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to promote sound financial management.
    Optimize cash flow, working capital, and capital structure to support business operations.

    Financial Analysis and Reporting:
    Strong expertise in U.S.

    financial audit and reporting systems, with a thorough understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SEC regulations, and other relevant financial compliance standards.

    Demonstrate a proven track record of managing comprehensive audits, enhancing reporting procedures, and leading financial operations with a high degree of accuracy and integrity.

    Experience in preparing financial statements, tax strategies, and compliance reports is essential, along with the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in financial legislation.

    Conduct financial analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
    Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to the executive team and the board of directors.
    Provide insights and recommendations to drive financial performance and operational efficiency.
    Monitor key financial metrics, benchmarks, and industry trends to support informed decision-making.

    Strategic Financial Partnerships:
    Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as banks, investors, and auditors, to maintain strong financial relationships.
    Lead fundraising efforts, including debt and equity financing, and manage investor relations.
    Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships, conducting financial due diligence.

    Team Leadership and Development:
    Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth.
    Set clear goals and expectations, provide mentorship and guidance to team members.
    Foster a data-driven and performance-oriented mindset within the finance department.


    Qualifications/Capabilities:
    Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
    Proven experience as a CFO, VP of Finance, or in a similar senior financial leadership role.
    Strong financial acumen and expertise, including financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
    Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and financial management best practices.
    Demonstrated success in developing and implementing financial strategies that drive business growth.
    Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
    Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
    Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
    Demonstrated integrity, ethics, and a commitment to financial transparency.


    Preferred Qualifications:
    Experience in the tech sector is highly desirable.
    Public Accounting and Markets experience in the United States.
