Description: A Project Engineer position is currently available at Belcan in Rockford, Illinois. This is a full-time direct job with benefits. To be considered, you will need a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or similar and two to five years of experience in project engineering and/or mechanical or electrical engineering roles. The successful candidate will lead test projects and estimate budgets and schedule. This customer site designs, assembles, and tests cutting-edge military and commercial aerospace products including power generation and control systems.

Job Duties:

Project management skills. Experience with Microsoft Project.

Primary role is to lead and serve as the hub of communication for projects in a test lab for electric power systems.

Responsible for budget and schedule.

Works independently and as part of a cross-functional engineering team ensuring work is completed on-time, within quality standards, per specifications and contracts, and within budget constraints.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams from engineering, quality, and operations to design and implement engineering and qualifications tests.

Qualifications:

Two to Five years of experience in Project Engineering or Mechanical or Electrical Engineering roles.

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar.

Working knowledge of electric power systems.

Working knowledge of test labs.

Experience with estimating budgets and schedules.

Proven ability to lead a technical team in product test and development.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to prioritize and balance multiple assignments.

Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required.

Desired but not required skills:

Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS).

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $70,000 to $90,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline. Benefits offered may include health care, dental, vision, life insurance; 401(k); education assistance; paid time off including PTO, holidays, and any other paid leave required by law.'
