    Position Overview:

    Astria Therapeutics focuses on providing hope with revolutionary treatments to individuals and families impacted by allergic and immunological conditions. The company's lineup includes STAR-0215, a leading monoclonal antibody inhibitor of plasma kallikrein aimed at treating hereditary angioedema, and STAR-0310, an OX40 monoclonal antibody antagonist in preclinical development for atopic dermatitis (AD) and potentially other similar conditions.

    The Senior Director, Program Leader is responsible for overseeing multiple development programs within Astria's pipeline, spanning from early research to clinical phases. Reporting to the VP of Program Strategy & Management, this role involves managing and coordinating various R&D aspects such as preclinical research, clinical trials, CMC, regulatory affairs, new product planning, business development, and financial operations. The ideal candidate possesses a remarkable capacity to grasp technical, regulatory, and business implications, along with the intricate, cross-functional factors crucial for the successful advancement and commercialization of innovative therapies.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead the STAR-0310 program (planned IND submission in 2024) and collaborate closely with team members to devise and implement strategies for effective progress
    • Work in close partnership with Research, Development, Clinical, Commercial, CMC, Regulatory Affairs, and other departments to ensure synchronization on program strategies, priorities, timelines, resources, budget, and goals, ensuring operational alignment with the established strategy
    • Identify, develop, articulate, and present strategic options to facilitate informed decision-making
    • Drive decision-making processes within the program
    • Regularly communicate program status updates to ensure organizational visibility on timelines, achievements to date, upcoming milestones, and identified risks
    • Promote a culture of accountability, positive teamwork, and interdisciplinary cooperation
    • Assist the team in preparations for significant regulatory submissions and engagements with regulatory agencies
    • Proactively anticipate and address program risks; escalate and resolve critical issues promptly and efficiently
    • Lead or contribute to special projects as required

    Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities with a proven history of success as a team manager
    • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical sector
    • At least 5 years in leadership roles in program management, overseeing cross-functional drug development in biologics (preferably) or small molecules
    • An advanced technical degree (MD or PhD) is desirable
    • Proficient in global drug product development concepts
    • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, capable of collaborating with diverse internal and external teams
    • Highly organized with keen attention to detail
    • Adept at balancing strategic direction setting with a focus on operational excellence
    • Able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
    • Strong negotiation and influencing abilities
    • Proactive in establishing and nurturing productive relationships, working cross-functionally
    • Capacity to delve into specifics while also providing valuable input on the broader scope
    • Demonstrates an outwardly focused mindset towards colleagues, displaying openness and consideration towards others
    • Experience in Atopic Dermatitis (AD) or allergy-related fields is advantageous
