Description
As a member of the center team, help develop and maintain a safe, nurturing, creative, fun, developmentally appropriate program. Group Leader I is responsible for the operation in the absence of the Center Director.
-
This is a seasonal program. The program operates from July 1st, 2024 to August 23rd, 2024.

Responsibilites:


  • Work with Center Director to develop and implement program goals and objectives.
  • Develop strong, positive relationships with each child.
  • Work with Center Director to develop ageappropriate activities and implement both individual and group activities, special projects, and field trips.
  • Work with Center Director to establish and maintain behavioral limits and classroom order.
  • With Center Director guidance, communicate with parents regarding children's daily needs, interests, progress and concerns, referring parent concerns to the Center Director.
  • Assist in keeping the center clean and organized.
  • Drive Center van to transport children, fulfilling responsibilities as outlined in Stars Van Driver Responsibilities and Procedures.
  • Assist in menu planning and food preparation and purchase.
  • Assist in record keeping.
  • Attend and participate in staff and team meetings and appropriate trainings.
All other assigned tasks.

Hours vary Monday to Friday 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM.


Qualifications:


  • Meet DEEC qualifications for School Age Group Leader.
  • High School Diploma or one year college and in pursuit of degree
  • Two years experience working with children in a formal setting.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain MA 7D Driving License.
  • Ability to set clear expectations and limits for children.
  • High energy, warm and nurturing personality.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Center Director


Job Type: 30-40 hours per week, Temporary, Seasonal

  • All South Shore Stars employees should be able to lift at least 40 lbs and work in a non-sedentary environment.
