    Health and Safety Manager


    Chicago, IL / USA Operations - Safety & Compliance / Full Time
    Health & Safety Specialist
    RESPONSIBILITIES
    OH&S MANAGEMENT SYSTEM Provide resources to H&S team on safety and health regulations and best practices during both the design phase and implementation phase of new or trial procedures.

    Developing, writing, and implementing H&S programs and procedures to drive compliance and safety performance.


    SAFETY CULTURE Implement weekly H&S calls with state operations managers to ensure successful implementation and maintenance of H&S programs, continuous improvement initiatives, worker compensation cases follow-up, etc.

    Provide advice, coaching, guidance and mentoring to managers and supervisors on safety initiatives and necessary change.


    INCIDENT & INJURY MANAGEMENT Lead claims management, with a focus on early and safe return, including the management of accommodation, modified work and return to work intervention.

    Lead and/or facilitate in incident/accident investigations, strong knowledge in root cause analysis and problem-solving including elaboration and follow up of corrective and preventive actions and reports.

    Develop incident investigation skill to management and supervisors.
    INSPECTION Maintain and develop working relationships with Regulatory Agencies. Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated and deficiencies corrected.


    QUALIFICATIONS:

     Minimum 3 to 5 years of progressive experience working as a H&S specialist Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field would be a valued asset. Must be proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to influence, coach and facilitate health and safety programs and policies. Exemplary organizational, written and verbal communication skills, a must. Must be able to manage multiple and competing priorities and complete tasks on-time in a dynamic to work independently, with an attention to details. Strong knowledge of H&S regulations, specifically OSHA requirements We are a healthcare service company providing safety systems and medical waste collection for hospitals, medical centers, surgical centers, nursing homes and an array of customers within the healthcare setting. Our focus is delivering quality and safety-focused medical waste management services that reduce needlestick injuries, positively impact infection control and reduce environmental burden. As a service to our customers we dispose and treat medical waste on site at our treatment facilities across the U.S.
