    (Summary The Database Administrator Manager is responsible for the group of SQL, Oracle and MySQL DBAs, some of them located in Ryder US and another group offshore. The DBA Manager is responsible for the management of Ryder's SQL, Oracle, MySQL and Redis cache on-prem database environments. He/She will oversee the delivery of database applications by developing the architecture and structure, programming, troubleshooting and security. The DBA Manager is responsible for meeting the SLAs for database availability, ticketing system and change request.

    Essential Functions + Oversees and directs the day to day activities of the Database Administrators to ensure efficient, effective and reliable design, planning, administration, implementation, documentation and maintenance of Ryder's databases + Responsible for the strategy to improve the design, implementation, support and reporting of processes and technologies for database technologies.

    + Responsible for the successful delivery of IT database services including service management (incident, problem, change, request), monitoring, backups, patching, capacity planning, optimization, asset management and reporting.

    + Responsible for the operational tasks for business projects requiring database services.

    Support includes providing standards, process and technical direction to architects, SME's and PM's to ensure full integration into the Ryder SDLC process.

    + Coaches and counsels employees on performance, sets expectations and manages outcomes of personal development, objectives and goals, recommends pay actions and responsible for other HR activities.

    + Responsible for the financial knowledge and discipline to manage departmental budget including, but not limited to, billable/non-billable hours, licensing, asset lifecycle, maintenance, and overall cost management.

    Additional Responsibilities + Manage the group of SQL, Oracle and MySQL DBAs. The DBA manager manages a department or small unit that includes multiple teams led by Supervisor and/or Project Leaders. + Spearheading comprehensive backup and recovery operations using cutting-edge enterprise-grade solutions. + Configuring database parameters and defining data repository requirements, data dictionaries, monitoring, warehousing and ETL requirements. + Crafting and executing innovative strategies to elevate database performance, bolster capacity, enhance encryption protocols, and amplify scalability.

    Our pursuits in IT Database Administration encapsulate database design, configuration, and management to assure the holistic integrity, security, and accessibility of organizational data.

    + Defining standards for physical data storage, maintenance, assess and security administration. + Meet the SLAs for Databases availability, Ticketing System and Change Request. + Provides Audit and oversight for IT Database Operations functions.

    + Performs other duties as assigned Skills and Abilities + Strong experience of IT Operations technologies and processes including MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL, network, server, monitoring, backup, patching, DR, ITSM, required.

    + Strong background in IT Security, specifically IT Risk, Vulnerability Management and system best practices, reqiured.

    + Proven track record in the management of a technical support group and vendor management to support the services, required.

    + Strong understanding and experience with the delivery of IT Operations Managed Services, required.

    Qualifications + Bachelor's degree required or equivalent + Seven (7) years or more progressive large scale IT Operations, database administration and technical services management experience.
