    Description
    Position Summary: The peer advocate will provide supportive services to clients in ARS clinics
    Essential Accountabilities:
    • Develop recovery plans;
    • Raise awareness of existing social and other support services;
    • Model healthy coping skills;
    • Provide peer support and advocacy after periods of hospitalization and incarceration;
    • Accompanying clients to court appearances and other appointments as needed;
    • Link clients to formal recovery supports;
    • Coordinate services with other clinical team members;
    • Participate in regulatory and agency trainings as needed;
    • Complete timely documentation in electronic health record;
    • Attend supervision as scheduled;
    • Maintain CFR and HIPPA rules on confidentiality;
    • Work with participants to identify strengths;
    • Must be able to communicate information verbally and in writing for the purposes of giving instructions, providing feedback and adjusting work practices;
    • Represent agency and clinical services at inter-agency meetings and conferences;
    • This does not exclude the assignment or performance of other duties as requested by supervisors.

    Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or GED
    • OASAS approved certification CRPA or CPRA- P
    • NYS driver's license
