    Are you a detail-oriented problem solver with a passion for steel estimating? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team at Kinsley Steel, Inc. as a Full Time Steel Estimator.

    In this role, you will be responsible for onsite estimation of steel projects, ensuring accurate and competitive bids. You will work closely with our project management and engineering teams to understand project requirements and develop cost-effective solutions. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to apply your expertise in steel estimation to contribute to the success of our projects.

    This position is onsite at our York, PA location, providing you the chance to work directly with our team and immerse yourself in our company culture. With an expected pay range of $65,000 - $75,000 per year, this role offers the opportunity to grow within our organization.     Your role as a Steel Estimator

    As a Steel Estimator at Kinsley Steel, Inc., you can expect each day to be dynamic and challenging. In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting project drawings and specifications, conducting material take-offs, and preparing accurate cost estimates for steel projects. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and suppliers, to gather necessary information and ensure the accuracy of your estimates. Being detail-oriented and analytical is essential in this role, as you will be expected to analyze project requirements, evaluate pricing options, and provide recommendations to optimize costs. Additionally, you will need to stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and new technologies to make informed decisions.

    As a full-time employee, your expected schedule will be Monday through Friday, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.     What you need to be successful

    To excel as a Steel Estimator at Kinsley Steel, Inc., a strong skillset and proficiency in certain software and tools are essential. Successful candidates should possess excellent analytical and mathematical abilities, allowing them to accurately interpret project drawings and specifications. Attention to detail is key, as you will be responsible for conducting precise material take-offs and cost estimations. Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software is crucial for creating detailed project layouts and collaborating with architects and engineers. Additionally, knowledge of construction estimation software, such as Bluebeam or On-Screen Takeoff, is highly beneficial.

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effectively liaising with project teams, suppliers, and clients. The ability to negotiate and collaborate is essential in obtaining accurate information and ensuring the success of projects. A customer-centric mindset is also important, as you will be focused on delivering cost-effective solutions that meet client requirements.
