Structural Engineer
who is highly motivated with previous Material Handling industry experience to join our fast-growing Manufacturing team. Structural Engineers are tasked with the design, specification, and review of crane, hoist, runway, and BTH device
components/systems.
This position requires a valid driver's license with no more than two (2) current moving violations.
Generous relocations assistance is available for this role, remote/hybrid work may be considered for the right candidate.
Compensation:
Base salary + commission and Semi Annual Performance Profit Sharing Bonus. *Additional compensation available for Professional Engineer (PE) applicants
Hours:
7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (+ early starts and
overtime
as dictated by the position). Average weekly hours = 45
Up to $5,000.00 Retention Bonus
Responsibilities:
Assist sales and service departments with application review, equipment specifications, and steel/hardware sizing
Assist the purchasing department with sizing and souring steel, hardware, and other structural components
Concrete calculations for system and support foundations
Create approval drawings and detailed fabrication drawings for internal and external use
Create bills of material (BOM) for estimating and ordering
Design, specification, and review of crane, hoist, runway, and BTH device components/systems
Frequent supplier and client interaction during the quoting and ordering phases projects
Generate layouts for components and configurations
Knowledge of applicableindustry standards including but not limited to CMAA, AIST, AISC, AWS and BTH-1
Occasional travel and client site visits will be required
Review and approve manufacturer kit and custom system drawings
Review and reverse engineering of existing devices and systems
Structural calculations in accordance with YH internal and industry accepted standards
Work with and review client provided drawings
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external clients
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary client service
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
High school diploma or GED required
Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in Structural Engineering or related discipline required
Experience successfully managing multiple projects
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings
Proficient in welding symbology
This position requires a valid driver license with no-more than two (2) current moving violations
Previous crane, runway, and/or BTH lifting device design experience is a major plus
Previous welding, installation, or rigging experience is a major plus
Physical Requirements:
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
Lift, move, or hold items weighing 50lbs. or more.
Ability to obtain DOT certification and maintain re-certifications.
Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
