- To work on new business opportunities.
- To track internal sales related metrices and work towards meeting assigned KPI's.
- Total commercial ownership on new awarded and current business for assigned accounts. Responsible to achieve sales revenue and business growth targets as defined by the yearly business plan.
- Act as liaison between customer and DE. Travel as required to visit customers, on time and accurate preparation of quotes for new items (or major changes). Lead negotiations and communicate cost and timing to customer. Prepare and give customer presentations.
- Put together a market penetration strategy via data mining to discover/develop potential new business opportunities. Summarize and propose recommendations to Management concerning new business opportunities.
- To work on internal sales related activities such as – working on business cases and cost break down sheets, working internally with our Accounting team to track tooling recovery items, track and recover Account receivables, follow up on quality or material delivery concerns.
- Negotiate pricing and other important supply chain matters (quality, delivery, and timing).
- Collaborates with a wide variety of functional areas such as engineering, program management, quality, manufacturing, and purchasing to develop and provide product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities. May be required to perform program management duties on a need be basis within the Sales Department depending on the significance of the issue/request.
- Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion. Also, provide timely periodic needed management reports related to customer activity.
- Build relationships with customer at different levels, in different departments, and at locations to support current and future business.
- Travel to customer locations supporting product development throughout for product reviews, testing, and change updates with periodic travel with customer to company manufacturing facilities (domestic and international).
- Demonstrated success managing OEM accounts.
- Demonstration of high-level customer interface with low and mid-level management of the customer.
- Demonstration of negotiations done with the customer on complex issues such as APR's/MYA's.
- Demonstration of working the Customer Portal to manage daily commercial activities.
- Demonstration of analytical skills to handle reasonably complex situations at both the micro and macro level perspectives.
- Demonstration of written and verbal communication skills to interpret and/or discuss technical or sensitive information with internal and external customers along with discretion in deciding what and how to communicate.
- Demonstration of strong business acumen and ability to lead across functions.
- Bachelor's degree required/Master's preferred.
- 1-3 years' experience in Automotive industry (Sales and Business development role) with proven results and success in building customer relationships and negotiation.
- Experience with Japanese business practices and culture preferred.
