    Description

    Position SummaryProvide on-site field technical services that exceed customer expectations for responsiveness, delivered at a level of quality and value that results in customer satisfaction, loyalty & retention.

    The role of Field Service Engineer is to manage all field service operations within an assigned field service territory. Ideal candidate is located in Champaign/Urbana Illinios Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Drive to customer locations on a daily basis
    • Provide product testing, investigation and repair of devices at customer location
    • Electromechanical device installation for field-serviceable equipment
    • MedNet/LifeShield support
    • MedNet/LifeShield device configurations
    • Install MedNet/LifeShield drug libraries as needed
    • Provide customer Technical In-Service training
    • Register Oracle Service Requests via laptop
    • Implement hardware & software device updates via technical field projects
    • Provide billable (i.e. non-warranty) field repair services
    • Utilize the Field Service Basic Operating Procedures
    • Management of Test Equipment
    • Maintain inventory of field spare parts
    • Proper expensing of all travel costs
    • Must understand wireless connectivity at the configuration level and be familiar with basic troubleshooting methods including wireless encryptionKnowledge, Skills & Qualifications
    • Strong cGMP, process and product knowledge
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Experience with programmable medical devices and software based medical systemsEducation and Experience
    • High School diploma or GED equivalent; Associate degree in a technical discipline, or the equivalent experience
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical vocation. Healthcare background preferredMinimum Qualifications
    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background checkTravel/Vehicle/Credit Requirements
    • Travel up to 25% away and 75% regional (2-hour drive).
    • Ability to use commercial air travel when necessary
    • Must be able to travel on short notice
    • Valid driver's license
    • Must own reliable vehicle with sufficient capacity to transport repair tools and equipment to customer site
    • Must be eligible for the corporate credit card
    • Ability to work overtime as neededPhysical Requirements and Work Environment
    • Must be willing to work in a hospital environment, typically a Biomed work area
    • Must be willing to complete all requirements for 3rd party vendor credentialing (vaccinations, background checks, etc)
    • Must have high level of hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to work with electro-mechanical medical devices
    • Must be able to lift 30-40 lbs
