- Participate in daily multidisciplinary internal medicine hospitalist rounds
- Provide accurate and timely medication information to healthcare staff and patients
- Provide clinical and operational pharmacy support to pharmacy and medicine teams
- Collaborate with the Director and Pharmacy and Associate Director of Pharmacy to develop and implement clinical pharmacy programs and services in support of the pharmacy department mission
- Serve as an active participant in local and system committees in related clinical practice areas as assigned
- Serve as an Opioid Stewardship local lead and as a site representative for a system Opioid Stewardship Committee meeting
- Actively participate in the Antimicrobial Stewardship program efforts
- Contribute to the Transitions of Care services and programs
- Identify, design and analyze drug utilization reviews to promote rational drug therapy and determine action plan based on results
- Participate in departmental and hospital quality and cost-savings initiatives
- Sustain the hospital formulary, minimizing non-formulary procurement, utilizing therapeutic interchanges and promote rational drug therapy selection
- Work collaboratively with other health care providers and the clinical team members to develop and maintain a sound formulary system to support evidence based pharmaceutical care and cost-effective drug utilization.
- Coordinate formulary reviews, drug use evaluations and quality assurance programs.
- Serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students and PGY1 pharmacy residents
- Develop and implement systems and procedures to maintain an efficient and effective workflow within the pharmacy and/or assigned areas
- Provide direction and guidance for the safe processing and dispensing of all medications for assigned area
- Address issues or services requiring intradepartmental coordination proactively
- Ensure an adequate inventory of pharmacy products and supplies to meet department demands
- Ensure the department is in compliance with all federal, state and local regulations, accrediting agencies; and Mount Sinai Heath System policies and procedures.
- Contribute to managing various personnel functions such as hiring, training, performance appraisals, coaching, disciplinary actions and terminations.
- Exchange information and provide input for inter-and-intra departmental meetings
- Serve on a rotating basis, as an on-call administrator and troubleshoot issues that arise evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Maintain adequate documentation to satisfy JCAHO requirements or other regulatory agencies
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Serving as the primary resource management representative of the Mount Sinai leadership teams, committees, etc., and acting as the primary executive leader interface between Mount Sinai and key executives from the health systems' vendors and partners
- Engaging with relevant thought leaders and policy-makers at the federal and state levels, and representing the Health System as assigned.
- Using a lens of equity in establishing and promoting policies and procedures and providing opportunities for all to thrive.
- Confronting racist, sexist or other inappropriate behavior and challenges exclusionary organizational practices and serving as a role model to promote anti-racist behaviors.
- Inspiring and fostering an environment of anti-racist behaviors among and between departments and co-workers.

Requirements:
Graduate from an accredited school of Pharmacy (ACPE).
Advanced degree, Graduate of a PGY1 residency, PGY-2 residency preferred.
Current New York State Pharmacist License – New York State Department of Education
Hospital pharmacy and/or clinical experience, management experience preferred
Pharmacy computer system(s), Hospital Software
Pharmacy perpetual Inventory
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state/local pharmacy regulations and pharmacy management practices

Compensation Statement
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $127, $190,565.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
