Eric Nguyen

I am a current PharmD student at St. John's University with my Pharmacy Intern permit. I have worked in a variety of settings including retail and mail-order pharmacies, which has allowed me to be a quick learner and adapt a wide skill set. 

I've worked as a pharmacy assistant at Mercury Pharmacy, which was a mail-order pharmacy. While working there I had several duties such as: 

• Calculated dosages, dispensed medications, prepared labels and fill mail order prescriptions
• Extemporaneous compounding of topical and oral products
• Prepared unit dose packaging for assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and skilled nursing facilities. 
• Labeled medications and ensured that they are correctly stored and organized.
• Performed quality control on prepared prescriptions before pharmacist verification

I've also worked as a pharmacy technician at Kroger, which is a chain grocery store, where I performed tasks such as: 

• Improved therapeutic outcomes as translator for Vietnamese and Spanish-speaking patients on medication use and dosage under pharmacist supervision
• Extemporaneous compounding of topical and oral products
• Enter prescription and patient information into computer systems and updating patient profiles as needed.
• Performed administrative tasks, such as billing and insurance claim processing.
• Provided exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers
