    Job Description

    PolyCon Solutions is seeking a *remote* Database Management Analyst to support our Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) client with performing tasks relating to Database Management System (DBMS) applications, including definition, design, structure, documentation, upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and protection. The candidate will provide expertise in database security, requirements, analysis, design, design reviews, development, software testing, integration, installation, and maintenance of complex computer systems.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop software systems and programs using Python or PHP (e.g., Python, PHP ASP.NET, ColdFusion) for software enhancements, new systems, and products.
    • Utilize HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases for system development.
    • Work closely with a high-energy development team to design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs.
    • Provide 2nd-level engineering support for the Federal NOTAM System (FNS) systems.
    • Support system development/testing/integration/deployment activities for FNS systems.
    • Provision, install, configure, monitor, and maintain various database systems.
    • Perform ongoing database performance tuning, hardware and software upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
    • Develop and manage Linux shell scripts to support application software testing and administration.
    • Able to debug database issues in Linux and Windows environments.
    • Attend system design reviews; technical interchange meetings; and any other meetings as requested to support the program and team.
    • Participate in system test and key site test activities as a tester.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Minimum 10 years of experience developing, managing, troubleshooting, and maintaining PostgreSQL databases.
    • Proficient in navigating Windows and Unix/Linux Operating Systems.
    • Familiarity with database management best practices.
    • Knowledge of database design and theories.
    • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
    • Must be willing to travel and be on-call 24x7 for site support.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Familiarity of NAS Technical Operations.
    • Familiarity with Elasticsearch or NOSQL Database.
    • Deep understanding of database optimization best practices.
