- Oversee the day-to-day operations of accounts payable team including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, credit card transactions, and expense reports.
- Maintain vendor maintenance records.
- Monitor and reconcile accounts payable transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Handle inquiries and resolve discrepancies from vendors and internal management.
- Develop and implement efficient processes and procedures to streamline the accounts payable workflow.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Stay updated on accounting regulations and compliance requirements such as 1099s filing.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years in accounts payable or related accounting role, with 5 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Knowledge of Great Plains accounting software is a plus.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
- Leadership and team building skills with ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Accounts Payable automation experience strongly preferred.
