Position Summary:
Visual Comfort & Co. is looking for an eager intern to support our growing Engineering department for Summer 2024. Interns typically support their designated department in day-to-day activities, complete assigned projects, and assist in all aspects of the department's needs. Interns will receive mentoring from their assigned supervisor and must contribute to a community engagement project sponsored by the company. At the end of the internship, interns are required to submit a presentation documenting their acquired knowledge and accomplishments.
Responsibilities:
Work with assigned department to create models in CAD software (SOLIDWORKS).
Build and refine a library of CAD models.
Assist in day-to-day operations, including data entry, administration, facilitation of work, and running projects.
Contribute to assigned company-sponsored community engagement activities.
Participate in regular internship meetings and complete a summer internship overview presentation.
Answer emails as needed.
Assist in other departments as needed.
Demonstrate commitment, dependability, punctuality, and adherence to an agreed-upon schedule as determined by the manager.

Qualifications:
Candidates must be enrolled in a 4-year bachelor's degree program (rising sophomore or higher) or currently completing a graduate degree program in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
Understanding of SOLIDWORKS (CAD software), Microsoft Office Suite, Intermediate Excel skills, as well as Proficient educational knowledge in the field of study.
PDM experience not required but would be a huge plus.
Working educational knowledge of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field of study.
Proficient written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities simultaneously.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
