Job Description:
Cain Department of Chemical Engineering at Louisiana State University is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar for a research initiative focused on the development of unimolecular branched polymers for emerging healthcare applications.
This role involves the synthesis and characterization of macromonomers and new polymer architectures, and exploring their potential use in medical diagnostics and other technological applications.
We are looking to fill this position promptly, with application reviews starting immediately and continuing until the position is filled.
70% Conduct research on macromonomer synthesis and polymerization, as well as NMR and MRI characterizations.Individuals with expertise in organic synthesis will be prioritized, and experiences in NMR techniques, cell culture or bioimaging/chemical tagging will be a great plus.
The Lawrence Lab provides a well-equipped environment for polymer synthesis and a variety of characterization techniques, with access to LSU's comprehensive material characterization facilities and external national laboratories.
20% Write manuscripts and support proposal writing and reports on various projects10% Mentor students and participate in collaborations. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
PhD in Chemistry, Polymer/Material Science, and Chemical Engineering or equivalent
Candidates should have a solid background in materials science, chemistry, or polymer science, evidenced by publications and experience in multi-step organic synthesis, polymer synthesis, and characterizations.
