Position Description:
The LSU AgCenter and School of Renewable Natural Resources is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher with experience in spatial ecology to be supervised by Dr.
Ashley M. Long.The candidate will contribute to an on-going DoD-funded project using change detection analyses and habitat forecasting to identify areas at highest risk of habitat conversion for an endangered species.
In addition to ecological modeling, the Postdoctoral Researcher will lead and assist with preparation of technical reports, peer-reviewed manuscripts, and presentations at scientific conferences, and will have other opportunities for professional development (e.g., mentoring students, grant writing).
The Postdoctoral Researcher will also have some flexibility to develop original research questions in areas related to the project. This is a 12-month appointment with possibility of extension based on job performance.Qualification Requirements:
Ph.
D. in relevant field (e.g., wildlife ecology, quantitative ecology).
Applicants should have excellent written and oral communication skills; a strong record of publications in peer-reviewed journals; and demonstrate fluency in spatial data analyses using R.
ArcGIS, and Google Earth Engine.Salary and Benefits:
