    Job Title: Sous Chef

    Location: Haig Point Club, Hilton Head Island, SC

    About Us: Haig Point Club is a prestigious member-owned private club renowned for its exceptional dining experiences and exclusive atmosphere. Located on Daufuskie Island and overlooking Hilton Head, our club offers unparalleled amenities, including the renowned Calibogue Club, banquet facilities and Grill room.

    Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The Sous Chef will play a pivotal role in maintaining the high standards of culinary excellence that our club is known for. The primary focus of this role will be assisting in the operation of our Calibogue Club while also providing support in banquet preparations and execution.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Assist Executive Chef: Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef to plan, coordinate, and execute culinary operations in the Calibogue Club and banquet events.
    2. Menu Development: Contribute creative ideas to develop innovative and seasonal menus for the Calibogue Club, ensuring variety and excellence in culinary offerings.
    3. Food Preparation: Oversee food preparation activities, including cooking, seasoning, and plating dishes according to established recipes and standards.
    4. Quality Control: Maintain strict quality control measures to ensure consistency, freshness, and presentation of all dishes served in the Calibogue Club and banquets.
    5. Kitchen Management: Assist in managing kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety standards.
    6. Staff Training: Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, excellence, and continuous improvement.
    7. Event Support: Provide assistance in banquet preparations, including menu planning, food production, and setup, to ensure the successful execution of events.
    8. Adherence to Policies: Adhere to club policies, procedures, and regulations at all times, maintaining professionalism and integrity in all interactions.

    Qualifications:

    • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Parte in a high-volume, upscale dining establishment, private member owned club is preferred.
    • Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred.
    • Strong culinary skills and a passion for creating exceptional dishes.
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
    • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
    • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
