    The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization, Maritime and Intelligence Systems (M&IS) Division is seeking a Senior Software Systems Engineer (Level 5) to join our Maritime Undersea in Huntington Beach, CA.     Position Overview:

    The Senior Software Systems Engineer will be a part of a high-performing team. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to provide guidance for our tactical systems program. This role will require deep understanding of Tactical Systems and the domain in which it operates.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Effectively navigate networks, software protocols, security systems, and hardware interfaces as they pertain to the Tactical Systems domain.
    • Develop and maintain the Tactical Systems tools and requirements.
    • Design, specify, and co-develop products that align with the customer's needs and fit seamlessly within the existing architecture.
    • Take ownership of monitoring, maintaining, and providing system administration support tools.
    • Continuously evaluate and improve system performance, ensuring optimal functionality and efficiency.

    Work Authorization:

    This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance, with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (U.S. Citizenship required) or requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

    • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
    • 5 years or more of experience in system development and software engineering.
    • 5 years or more of experience working with Linux and Windows – System Administration.
    • 3 years or more of experience with containerization and docker.

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    • 5 years or more of experience with the Implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guide – STIG.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    Typical Education/Experience:

    Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

    Relocation:

    Typical summary pay range (Level 5): 157,250 – $212,750
