    POSITION SUMMARY: Join us as we prepare for another great summer season at The Salt Shed The Concessions Food Prep Supervisor is responsible for oversight of all food prep employees. You will be working closely with the Concessions Manager and Culinary Director to ensure a smooth food prep operation to our full concessions menu.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Working with the Chef and Culinary Director, supervise food preparation for concessions program, comprised of several different food stalls/menu concepts.
    • Set up and prepare all food items; opening and closing duties; replenishment and rotation of stock as directed by the Culinary Director.
    • Production of menu items in a timely manner and in accordance with company standards
    • Ability to follow directions precisely and consistently; maintenance of work area and proper food storage; opening and closing duties
    • Maintain clean workspace and equipment. Ensure kitchen team is in compliance with all necessary health department guidelines.
    • Provide on-the-spot coaching and training as needed for team members
    • Communicate with Concessions Stand Supervisor on stand inventory levels
    • Overseeing service standards during events to ensure a high level of the guest experience
    • Other duties/responsibilities may be assigned as the role and food operation evolves

    QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

    • This is an hourly position. Hours are based on events schedule.
    • Must posses or acquire a CDPH Food Service Managers Sanitation Certificate
    • Previous food preparation experience
    • Previous Supervisory experience
    • Ability to work late hours
    • Flexible schedule
    • Must be able to lift or move up to 25 lbs using proper lifting techniques
    • Skill in interpersonal communication and teamwork
    • Ability to deal with intoxicated guests in a positive and safety minded manner
    • Tolerance of all cultures, music and art forms
    • Flexible schedule - Must be available late nights, weekends, and holidays.
    • Must be 21 years of age or older
    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
    • Previous kitchen supervisory experience


    ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS

    • Must have the ability/stamina to work long hours when required
    • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods
    • Will frequently be seated at a computer and key in data
    • Must be able to work in both warm and cool environments, indoors and outdoors.
    • Must be able to tolerate higher levels of noise from music and customer traffic.

    EXPECTED HOURLY: $25/hr
