- Design and implement secure automation solutions for development, testing, and production environments
- Manage continuous integration and delivery pipeline to maximize efficiency
- Improving systems through updates and optimizations using various technologies
- Present program overviews, proposals, and technical briefings at internal and external events
- Coordinate with sponsors and team members to identify risks, issues, requirements, and design solutions for project-level activity on a day to day basis
- Strong experience with Linux-based infrastructures, Linux/Unix administration
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and Ansible
- Experience with version control software such as Git
- Experience with open-source technologies and cloud services such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with logging, search, and/or aggregation tools such as Splunk, Elastic, or Prometheus
- Stellar troubleshooting skills with the ability to spot issues before they become problems
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain protocol and processes with team and management.
- Well-organized, independent and ready to work with minimal supervision
- Working with Atlassian products (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence)
- Working knowledge in Java, C/C++, and Matlab
- Familiarity with VMWare virtualization tools
- Familiarity with GitLab
- Experience with databases such as SQL, PostreQL, and MySQL
- Experience with open-source technologies and cloud services

The Digital Engineering Department in the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State University is seeking highly motivated, self-starting DevSecOps Research and Development Engineers to join our team. These positions would work out of our State College, PA, Reston, VA, San Diego, CA or Hawaii locations/offices.
Responsibilities of this position include:
This job will be filled as a level 1 or level 2 depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering or Science discipline plus two years' related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs.
Prior experience/knowledge in the following is strongly recommended for a Level 1 and required for a Level 2:
