    Description

    Summary :

    The employee holding this position will plan and direct the accounting operations of the company, which includes accounts payable, account receivable, bank reconciliations and payroll as well as training programs and identifies training needs.

    This position reports to U&I's CEO.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities :


    Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implement a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.

    Oversee the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

    Recommend benchmarks that will be used to measure the company's performance.

    Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.

    Serve as staff liaison to the finance committee, attend meetings, prepare agendas, minutes, and reports as requested.

    Monitor and reconcile investment accounts.

    Provide for the timely processing of cash receipts, payment of agency expenses, invoicing, and collection of overdue accounts.

    Ensure accuracy of documentation accompanying invoices.

    Process payroll, submit timely deposits of 403b contributions.

    Liaison for timekeeping solution.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration required.

    Five years or more of related experience required.

    Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.

    Proficient in Sage 50 Accounting System

    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

    Excellent organizational and time management skills
