    Description

    Vice President - Investment Banking - Chemicals

    New York, United States of America

    Summary:

    As an Investment Banking Vice President in Chemicals, you will establish solid relationships with clients while handling a wide range of investment banking products such as mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, loans, and equity capital and debt capital raises.

    Essential Functions/Responsibility Statements:

    • Lead transactions including mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, other equity capital markets activity, high yield debt issuance, and other debt issuance in the Chemicals sector.
    • Analyze detailed corporate and financial information and conduct thorough due diligence.
    • Perform financial modeling and analysis related to the valuation of companies including discounted cash flow, transaction comparables, public market comparables, leveraged buyout analysis, and public market overviews.
    • Create pitch books and proposals to present potential acquisitions, divestitures, and capital structure alternatives to clients.
    • Train analysts and associates.
    • Lead day-to-day client discussions, idea generation, and transaction execution.
    • Develop relationships with key decision-makers in the global Chemicals industry. Prospect new clients and enhance client outreach skills.
    • Requires up to 50% domestic and international travel.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent degree and/or equivalent work experience, in Finance, Business, or a related field.
    • Master's degree or MBA (Preferred).

    Work Experience:

    • Experience in Chemicals Investment Banking (6+ years with Bachelor's degree, 3+ years with MBA).

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Prior work experience in an Investment Banking front office role, ideally in Chemicals Investment Banking.
    • Experience in training junior bankers.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Very strong quantitative and analytical skills (including Excel modeling and valuation work).
    • Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines, and have the ability to synthesize large amounts of information and develop innovative solutions.
    • Ability to manage projects independently and assume a high level of responsibility.
    • Ability to interact effectively with clients.
    • Ability to assess and mitigate reputational, operational, and credit risk.
    • Experience with sell-side and buy-side merger and acquisition processes and equity and debt capital raises.

    Working Conditions: Involves minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing, and walking. Occasional moving and lifting equipment and furniture is required to support onsite and offsite meeting setup and teardown. Physically capable of lifting up to fifty pounds, and able to bend, kneel, and climb ladders.
