Reports to (title):Technical Director

Direct Reports: 2

Budget Scope:Prepares and manages the Maintenance department budget.

General Description:Responsible for planning, coordinating, directing, and implementing the maintenance department activities for production and the yard operations.

Position Responsibilities:

Define the actions needed to maintain the facility and processing equipment in compliance with FDA, OSHA and EPA regulatory requirements and company policies.
Acts as the Chairman of the Employee Safety Committee and is a member of the Food Safety/HACCP Team and the Crisis Management Team.
Coordinates with Sales and Operations to develop and implement new or improved products and processes.
Establishes the project requirements for external equipment and facility contractors
Defines the operating parameters of the Preventive Maintenance program.
Maintains an inventory of critical equipment parts to assure operational efficiency and profitability.
Acts as the purchasing function for equipment and facility maintenance.
Acts as the point person for computer and Information Technology systems.
As a member of the Food Safety/HACCP Team, assures that root cause analysis and corrective actions, as defined by the HACCP Team, are completed.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, meeting with suppliers and contractors and establishing personal technical networks.

Education/Experience/Capabilities Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related experience.
15 to 20 years experience in food industry, with supervisory background.
Must have excellent communication and management skills.
Experience with PLCs, HMI, Conveyors, wastewater treatment/management, dicing and washing equipment etc.
Ability to travel on a limited basis.

Relationships: Equipment suppliers and manufacturers, maintenance support functions, information technology contractors, all company functions.
