    Job Description and Duties

    This position is located at the Sacramento DMV Headquarters.


    Under direction of the Staff Services Manager I, the Policy & Procedure Analyst supports the division's Sworn and Non-Sworn personnel while performing the following duties which typically require well developed writing expertise.

    The incumbent serves as part of a team that performs research, analysis, and development of writing and maintaining Investigations Division (INV) manuals.

    Develops a general law enforcement knowledge by staying informed of policy, procedural, statutory, and regulatory changes; performs periodic review of existing state regulations and proposes recommendations to management on areas necessitating updates, revisions, or new processes by researching applicable laws, rules and regulations governing those processes, eliciting input from subject matter experts; acts as a Virtual Assistant coordinator; responsible for tracking divisional staff Policy and Procedure acknowledgements; responds to management inquiries concerning acknowledgements; revises and develops INV forms using Microsoft Office and Adobe software programs working with SME's and stakeholders in the forms process; utilizes various software to develop alert, informational, and policy and procedural bulletins; prepares comprehensive documents to be used by internal and external customers, including law enforcement and governmental agencies; provides recommendations for executive management review; and serves as backup to the INV Legislative Analyst.

    Works in a multistory building, in an office setting, in a cubicle. Part-time telework available upon operation need. Telework requires California residency.
