The CA. Department of Social Services' and California Food Assistance Program (CFAP) are recruiting for an ASSOCIATE GOVERNMENTAL PROGRAM ANALYST positions in Sacramento, Fresno, or Los Angeles counties.


The State of California provides state-funded CalFresh benefits through the California Food Assistance Program (CFAP) for qualified non-citizens who do not qualify for the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), known as CalFresh.

In 2021, legislation was passed through Assembly Bill 135, Section 86 and 87 that initiated changes to the current CFAP and expanded eligibility to allow additional non-citizens to participate regardless of immigration status.

The CFAP Bureau is responsible for implementing and overseeing the CFAP.

The CFAP Bureau will provide policy development, contract management, training, technical assistance program support, and policy oversight for all 58 counties throughout California.


Job Description and Duties - Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I), the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA)/ Staff Services Analyst (SSA) is responsible for a variety of complex activities associated with CFAP policy development, implementation, and interpretation. In addition, the AGPA/SSA is involved in legislative bill analysis, special projects requiring research and analysis, and proactively provides recommendations to management for program improvement. The AGPA/SSA demonstrates the ability to work independently, as well as in a group setting, and maintains effective and ongoing communication with management.

Salary:
$$5, $7,114.00 per Month
