- You will work on a peer level with other CNS, Nursing Educators, and Associate Directors.
- Assume the role of leader, clinician, researcher, educator, patient care advocate, consultant, inter and intra-departmental liaison, and resource professional.
- Interact directly with patients, families, and groups of patients to promote health or well-being and improve quality of life characterized by a holistic perspective in the advanced nursing management of health, illness, and disease states.
- Maintain competency skills including the ability to deliver care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Master's degree in clinical nursing specialty required for CNS.
- Bachelor's degree or above in clinical nursing specialty required for NPD.
- Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree preferred.
- Valid California Registered Nurse license.
- CNS certification by the CA Board of Registered Nursing (for the CNS role)
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy certification preferred. Must obtain within 6 months of hire.
- National Specialty Certification required from OCN or BMTCN.
- Minimum of 3 years recent acute RN experience in specialty
- Oncology experience preferred.
- Meets specialty specific clinical competencies for assigned area.
