Great opportunity for a
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to be part of our PICU which is a 36-bed unit across two locations in the hospital.
As the Nurse Practitioner - PICU, your responsibilities will include ordering, conducting and interpreting appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, prescription of pharmacologic agents and treatments and non-pharmacologic therapies in a cost-efficient manner.
The Pediatric NP works autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage client's health care problems.
The PICU NP serves as health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant and patient advocate. Demonstrates commitment to a patient and family focused model of care. Minimum Qualifications for a PICU Nurse Practitioner (NP)
- 3+ years acute pediatric experience as an NP preferred. Will accept an NP with 12 years of acute peds NP experience with strong prior acute peds RN experience in the PICU.
- 1+ year of specialty area experience preferred.
- Masters of Science degree in Nursing from an N.L.N. accredited graduate school of nursing required.
Education/Licensure/Certification for a PICU Nurse Practitioner (NP)
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing for hold out as a Nurse Practitioner as defined in Section 1482, Nurse Practice Act, Business and Professional Code.
- Current California Registered Nurse License
- Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
- National certification as appropriate preferred.
- Eligible for Furnishing License preferred.
