Description

Job Summary:
Physician Assistants (PA) provide healthcare services to patients with various conditions, focusing on health evaluation, prevention, education, and counseling under physician supervision. They conduct physical exams, interpret diagnostic tests, and take responsibility for each patient's care from diagnosis to recovery. PAs diagnose and treat chronic and episodic disorders, maintaining thorough records and demonstrating superior service and cultural sensitivity.
Essential Responsibilities:

Collect subjective data (obtain history).
Collect objective data (perform a physical exam).
Develop an assessment (diagnosis).
Develop and implement a management plan.
Refer patients to appropriate health facilities and resources.
Order treatments.
Provide patient education.
Plan follow-up care.
Manage patients with complex medical conditions.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and ethical conduct.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience

At least one (1) year of experience as an NP or PA.

Education

Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Program OR graduate of an accredited RN and NP Program.
Masters Degree in Nursing.

License, Certification, Registration

RN License (California) AND NP National Certificate AND NP Furnishing Number (California) AND NP Certificate (California)

PA License (California) AND PA National Certificate from National Commission for the Certification of Physician Assistants
Basic Life Support
National Provider Identifier

Additional Requirements:

Willing to consider Nurse Practitioner II role.
DEA Registration Number must be obtained within twelve (12) months if hiring new grad NP or PA.
Extended probationary period to twelve (12) months.
Current DEA Registration Number.
ACLS certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of recent Cardiac Surgery experience, including Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH).

Notes:

Shifts: 7:00 am-5:30 pm (10-hour option), with a backup shift from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
