    Description


    LHH is working with a manufacturing company in the aviation space that is adding a new Senior Accountant to their team.

    They are looking for someone that is proficient in financial reporting and inventory control.

    This role entails a hands-on approach, encompassing tasks such as journal entries, audit support, cost accounting, overseeing inventory control, ensuring GAAP compliance, and assisting with various accounting functions.


    Job Responsibilities:
    Aid in month-end closing procedures.
    Provide assistance for external audit requirements.
    Compile documentation for lending compliance.
    Conduct cost analysis, including inventory, production, and expenses.
    Develop and implement cost accounting systems.
    Prepare Sales and Gross margin reports.
    Offer cost-effective solutions and forecast changes.
    Maintain updated databases and manage cost information.
    Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
    Perform journal entries, account reconciliations, and fixed asset maintenance.
    Manage inventory-related accounts, including COGS calculations and inventory valuation.
    Analyze inventory-related accounts, investigate variances, and provide explanations.
    Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and internal/external audits.
    Aid in the implementation and testing of inventory-related modules or systems.
    Assist consultants with government reports and tax filings.
    Eventually supervise the daily and monthly cycle of A/R and A/P team transactions.
    Other duties as assigned.

    Inventory Control:
    Develop and implement inventory control procedures to ensure accuracy.
    Oversee cycle counts and reconcile variances.
    Monitor inventory levels and recommend actions.
    Collaborate with operations and procurement teams to optimize inventory levels.
    Conduct periodic inventory audits to assess compliance.

    System and Process Improvement:
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance inventory management systems.
    Identify opportunities for process improvement.
    Lead or participate in department-wide process improvement initiatives.

    Job Requirements:
    Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
    CPA/CMA current or eligible.
    5 to 10 years of experience in accounting or manufacturing.
    Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
    Experience in inventory control and cost accounting.
    Strong MS Office skills, particularly in Excel.
    Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
    Effective written and verbal communication skills.
    Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
