    Position Overview

    The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in the financial management and reporting functions of the organization.

    This position involves overseeing and performing a variety of accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy, compliance with financial regulations, and timely reporting.

    The Senior Accountant often collaborates with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and management, to support strategic decision-making.

    Primary Job Roles


    Lead the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes; reconciling accounts, adjusting entries, and ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.

    Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, reviewing account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies. Ensure proper classification of transactions.
    Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
    Analyzes and records necessary prepaid expenses and accruals to reflect accurate current assets and liabilities for each accounting period.
    Ensure all credit card accounts are reconciled and any discrepancies are resolved.
    Maintain fixed assets and lease query to provide for accurate fixed assets and lease accounting.
    Continuously assess accounting processes and systems, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and implementing best practices.
    Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data, provide insights, and support strategic planning.

    Collaborate with management to develop and manage budgets, as well as participate in forecasting exercises to provide insights into financial trends and performance.

    Provide support to the Accounts Receivable and Payables functions as necessary.
    Implement and monitor internal control procedures to safeguard company assets, prevent fraud, and maintain data security.
    Coordinate and assist during internal and external audits, providing documentation, explanations, and ensuring audit readiness.
    Prepare and review tax filings, including income tax, sales tax, and other regulatory reporting. Stay updated on tax regulations and ensure compliance.
    Participate in special projects, financial analysis, and initiatives as required by the organization's changing needs.
    Oversee the end-to-end payroll processing cycle, ensuring accurate and timely payment of employees. Calculate and process payroll deductions, taxes, and benefits. Stay updated on payroll tax regulations.

    Experience/Education

    Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance required, CPA preferred
    Experience in manufacturing industry strongly preferred
    Four years of minimum experience in public accounting or similar position
    Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and internal control procedures
    Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and particularly Excel, and also proficiency with Google Suite and particularly Sheets
