- Pursue new opportunities for the book where appropriate including a specific business plan for growth.
- Quote, Obtain Prospect Information, Prepare Proposals for new business
- Present proposal to customer ensuring appropriate team members and resources are represented/attend.
- Spend time outside office with new business opportunities at least 50% of the time.
- Provide customer relations with all levels of client's decision-makers as well as the day-to-day technical client representatives.
- Follow up to address customer needs and resolve their problems/issues.
- Ensure the proper resources from within the organization are involved with the customer and introduce new products through the other core business groups where appropriate.
- Document sales, prospecting information into the sales management database.
- Encourage and motivate team members to achieve or exceed agency standards.
- Prepare customer new business strategy including proposals and presentations and ensure they agree with customer's requests/requirements.
- Promote teamwork and commitment to department/agency goals.
- Follow Agency guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Remain current on industry trends and information, new product development, legislation, coverages and technology.
- Remain up to date with current market conditions and status of competition.
- Valid Property and Casualty license.
- Five (5) or more years property/casualty experience.
- Knowledge of industry sales/marketing methods preferred.
- One (1) or more professional insurance designations desirable.
- College degree or equivalent job-related experience required and advanced degree desirable.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite.
- Knowledge of Word Processing Software, Spreadsheet Software, and Database Software.
- Exceptional telephone demeanor.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- This position requires routine or periodic travel which may require the teammate to drive their own vehicle or a rental vehicle. Acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter, and maintenance of minimum acceptable insurance coverages are a requirement of this position.
