    Description

    Job Responsibilities

    The main goal of the Paramedic role is to deliver pre-hospital Basic and Advanced Life Support in a variety of weather conditions. The Paramedic will work alongside other EMS team members under the guidance of a licensed Medical Control Physician and an EMS Supervisor. Responsibilities include assessing, treating, and safely transporting patients to medical facilities, while ensuring all necessary documentation is completed. Furthermore, the Paramedic will support efficient EMS operations and uphold a positive and professional image for UH and EMS.

    Qualifications

    Applicants must have a minimum of two years of EMS experience and driving experience, with a clean driving record. Preferred qualifications include completion of Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator training, possession of a Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support or Basic Trauma Life Support provider card, bilingual skills, and familiarity with electronic medical records. Additionally, candidates must maintain current and valid certifications, including NJ Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic or Nurse certification.

    Other requirements include a valid driver's license, certifications in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, as well as training in Incident Command System and Hazardous Materials Awareness.

    Physical Demands

    The Paramedic should be in excellent physical condition and be capable of performing various tasks, including lifting patients and operating electronic equipment.

    Work Environment

    The Paramedic must be prepared to work in diverse conditions and handle unpredictable situations, including potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens and patient crises. Some duties may require physical agility and the ability to work in hazardous environments.
