    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The Tenant Coordination Specialist will work in a team and will be reporting to the Vice President of Tenant Coordination & Aftercare. In this role, the Tenant Coordination Specialist will be responsible for working with households from the beginning of the voucher process, during the move into housing and stability after placement. The Tenant Coordination Specialist plays a key role as the point of contact for tenants and will work closely with government agencies, other nonprofits, and the internal Anthos team and will be required to develop an expertise in NYC housing subsidies and processes.

    This position is essential to maintain an ongoing relationship with the participant and will make regular contact with participants to ensure housing stability.

    Key responsibilities include the ability to:
    • Assist program participants and property providers in navigating the housing process with vouchers, rental payments, repairs and any other housing needs;
    • Liaise between program participants and property owners, as needed;
    • Work with the Housing Acquisitions and Operations teams to assist with housing placements and assignments;
    • Coordinate program participant move-ins, including scheduling unit viewings, supporting participant with leasing paperwork with property provider, assisting with furniture selections, and processing financial paperwork with the Operations team
    • Facilitate meetings and communication with participants and property providers during the lease up process, move in process and housing stability process
    • Attend meetings and case conferencing as needed to ensure collaborative supports are being provided to the participants to ensure stability
    • Provide aftercare services that will include home visits and phone call as needed to ensure safety and wellness of the participants, address any rental arrears and utilities issues, assess maintenance of units and provide housing voucher recertification support
    • Respond to housing and tenant-related emergencies during normal business and after hours.
    • Assess the need for reasonable accommodations/unit modifications and ADA compliance and assist program participants through the process of obtaining the appropriate information and documentation
    • Submit and follow up on tenant maintenance requests and maintain thorough and accurate progress notes and correspondence while maintaining the confidentiality of program participants, staff, and organizational information at all times
    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

    The Tenant Coordination Specialist must be a people person who loves working with others and solving problems. Bachelor's degree preferred, and if not, candidate must have 3 years or more of experience working with people in the housing and human service sector.

    Additional Skills include:
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Familiarity with the NYC housing market and voucher system
    • Excellent verbal, written, communication and negotiation skills
    • Willingness to travel and make multiple visits in the community
    • Ability to use public transportation or meet the same travel requirements with reasonable accommodation
    • Ability to ascend/descend stairs, as some work locations may not have accessibility to an elevator, or meet the same requirements with reasonable accommodation
    • Experience with community-based outreach
    • Ability to utilize critical thinking skills in decision-making situations, good organizational and record-keeping skills, and good independent judgment
    • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Passion for the mission of the organization
    • Ability to work in a diverse environment
    WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    • Competitive Pay: $65,00 - $70,000 starting salary (dependent on experience)
    • WFH/Hybrid work: 3-5 days may be required in the office or field each week
