    We are seeking a dynamic Assistant Housekeeping Manager effectively and efficiently assist in the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department.

    Will be responsible for providing quality service to ensure positive guest comments and feedback; demonstrate full knowledge of the hotel layout; and create a safe, comfortable and friendly working environment to enable the team to deliver an outstanding overall level of service.

    Will work closely with the Engineering Department to maintain effective room and public area maintenance program, and work closely with the front office in order to maintain an effective communication between both departments.

    Requirements

    • Taking pride in impeccably preparing rooms for incoming guests through cleaning, and replenishing linens, towels, and amenities to create a welcoming and luxurious atmosphere
    • Providing thorough cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and polishing surfaces, paying close attention to detail and ensuring that cleanliness standards are met or exceeded
    • Attending to various guest requests such as providing extra amenities, or offering information about hotel services and facilities in a helpful, professional manner to ensure guest satisfaction
    • Reporting maintenance issues or damages to guest rooms to the appropriate department for prompt resolution and to ensure a meticulous environment for guests
    • Effectively and efficiently assist in the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department.
    • Provides quality service to ensure positive guest comments and feedback.
    • Demonstrates a full knowledge of the hotel layout.
    • Creates a safe, comfortable and friendly working environment to enable the team to deliver an outstanding overall level of service.
    • Works closely with Engineering Department to maintain effective room and public area maintenance program.
    • Work closely with the front office in order to maintain an effective communication between both departments.
    • Assists the Director of Housekeeping in all necessary tasks and ensures a smooth running of the entire Housekeeping operation.
    • Coordinates, and delegates and follows-up on daily job assignments and projects for the Housekeeping operation and staff in the absence of the Director of Housekeeping.
    • Counsels, documents, praises or disciplines any employee as required.
    • Regulates quality of cleanliness of the guest rooms, as well as, the public areas.
    • Responds to all guest requests and complaints and follows up to ensure the guest's satisfaction.
    • Monitors daily scheduling and payroll through effective planning.
    • Communicates with the Front Office to ensure that all cleaned room status is updated before the end of the day.
    • Inspects VIPs rooms daily with the assistance of the Supervisors
    • Assists in training and re-training of all employees.
    • Performs other duties as required by the Director of Housekeeping.
    • Effectively communicates with the Director of Housekeeping. Enforces hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
    • Adhere to health and safety guidelines, ensuring employees follow accordingly.
    • Follows and supervises key handling procedure set by El Encanto.
    • Ensure that departmental administration is carried out efficiently and log-in systems are accurate at all times.
    • Conducting daily briefings in order to provide up to date information.
    • Ensure grooming standards are maintained by the Team whilst personally presenting a professional image.
    • Make sure that calls are put in ALICE on a daily basis and follow up.
    • Keep an updated inventory of amenities, linen and uniform
    • Daily usage of Compass, Expo and ADP
    • Monitors that employee follow all procedures regarding punch-in and punch-out for work as defined by El Encanto.
    • Monitors that employee follow all procedures regarding attendance, lateness and absence as set by El Encanto.
    • Monitors that employee follow standards set by El Encanto, LQA and Forbes.
    • Monitors that employee utilize supplies efficiently to eliminate waste.
    • Monitors that employee follow recycling practices defined by El Encanto.

    • Use utilities and resources in a responsible manner to control wastage.
    • Communicate relevant information to the department, your line manager and across departments, as appropriate.
    • Comply with safe working practices, Health and Safety policy and ensure accidents/defects are reported immediately.
    • Attend learning and development courses and complete eLearning modules, as required.
    • Demonstrate and be a role model of Belmond's core values of Care, Confidence, Curiosity and Community.
