Summary
American Fan has an opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Engineer, based in our Fairfield, OH facility.
The primary purpose of the Continuous Improvement Engineer is to
drive operational efficiency and productivity within our organization.
This position offers a unique opportunity to apply your knowledge of industrial engineering principles and continuous improvement methodologies in an industrial setting.
You will work closely with our experienced engineers and managers to identify process improvement opportunities, optimize workflows, and implement best practices.
Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesConduct time and motion studies to analyze existing processes and workflows.
Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and waste in production or operational processes.
Collaborate with team members to design and implement process improvements for enhanced productivity and reduced cost.
Gather and analyze data related to production output, quality, and other key performance indicators.
Use statistical tools and methods to identify trends and insights to support decision-making.
Generate reports and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations.
Participate in continuous improvement projects and Lean Six Sigma initiatives.
Assist in the implementation of Lean methodologies, 5S, Kanban, and other improvement frameworks.
Support the development and execution of improvement plans and track their progress.
Evaluate workstations for ergonomic design and safety compliance.
Propose and implement ergonomic improvements to enhance the well-being of workers.
Work with cross-functional teams to conduct root cause analysis for process-related issues.
Assist in developing and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
Support project planning, scheduling, and coordination.
Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Contribute to the development of training materials and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Assist in conducting training sessions to ensure proper implementation of process improvements.
Effectively communicate ideas, findings, and progress to team members and management.
Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless implementation of improvement initiatives
Qualifications and Educational Requirements
A degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Eagerness to learn and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Willingness to adapt to a fast-paced industrial environment.
Strong work ethic and the ability to set and achieve goals.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
Strong administrative and recordkeeping skills
Excellent Microsoft Office Skills, with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
Rotating and/or gas and air handling equipment experience.
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma
AutoCAD experience
Minitab (Statistical analysis) experience
Experience with servicing highly engineered equipment and products.
