    The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team can provide you the opportunity to build and operate a suite of massive scale, integrated cloud services in a broadly distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment.

    The OCI Region Network Engineering team is building network designs and tools to support the massive growth of OCI network infrastructure.

    The new service team will address all aspects of network capacity delivery enablement including the physical asset lifecycle from planning and design, to delivery and, eventually, decommissioning enabling OCI to continue to grow its footprint in both existing regions and to entirely new regions.

    Our goal is scale up the process to be able to meet high capacity demands from our large-scale customers.


    We're looking for a Manager of Network Development for the Data Center Network Core team with expertise and passion in building teams, coaching individuals, and tackling new challenges in designing, implementing and maintaining highly available and scalable networks for managing design delivery and platform lifecycle.

    The candidates applying for this role should be passionate about operations and the customer experience.

    What are the biggest challenges for the team?


    The biggest challenges for the team are understanding a challenging domain, dealing with abstract problem statement and shaping the product.

    The dynamic and fast growth of the business is driving us to improve the ability of our systems to scale out and be able to meet capacity and network demands of our large scale customers


    You should be responsible to provide leadership, direction, and strategy to the team, establish and develop the team to meet and execute the strategy, working with geographically distributed teams, and contributing to the success of your team and other related teams.

    We expect you to deliver large-scale projects on time with high quality.

    Required Qualifications

    MS or BS in Computer Science, Network/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.

    3+ years of experience managing network engineering teams.

    6+ years of large-scale network engineering experience.

    Experience delivering and operating large-scale, highly available distributed networks.

    Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.


    Solid understanding of key networking technologies needed for the cloud including: network design and fabrics, networking protocols, network automation, network telemetry and common hardware platforms.

    Understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of production services.

    Strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical skills, and project management skills

    Understanding of service metrics and alarms through the development of dashboards, service KPIs, alarming systems.

    Experience working in an operational environment with mission-critical tier-one services with associated pager duty.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience leading teams developing services on a public cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, Oracle)

    Building teams and organizations in a v1 product development setting

    Experience working with external customers and translating requests into prioritized work or features

    Experience working with Data Center Infrastructure Management systems and tools.

    Experience using Kubernetes in CICD environments.

    Career Level -Responsibilities

    Supports the design, deployment, and operations of a large-scale global Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

    Primarily focused on the development and support of network fabric and systems through a combination of a deep-level understanding of networking at the protocol level coupled with programming skills.

    As OCI is a cloud-based network with a global footprint, this support will include hundreds of thousands of network devices supporting millions of servers, connected over a mix of dedicated backbone infrastructure, CLOS Network, and the Internet.


    Responsibilities:
    Own and develop highly available services.

    Lead engineering development programs across the physical network.

    Attract, develop & manage a team of highly skilled engineers.

    Define and develop roadmaps to deliver engineering and operational efficiencies.


    Develop, grow, and maintain data-driven metric programs that speak to both the operational and business status of the services owned within the physical networking domain.

    Solve difficult problems in distributed systems, infrastructure, and highly available services.

    Collaborate with Network Availability, Network Automation, Network Monitoring, and GNOC operations.

    Support engineering organizations to deliver a highly available service to our customers.

    Participate in on-call rotation for managers.

    US:

    Hiring Range:
    from $84,800 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.


    Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

    Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

    Paid time off:
    Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits.

    For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment.

    Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

    11 paid holidays

    Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
