    My client is looking to add a VP of Operations to their Houston firm. This position will step into a pivotal role that requires a blend of strategic vision, operational prowess, and leadership acumen. Here's how you can navigate and excel in this position:

    1. Leadership & Team Development:
    • Foster a culture of excellence, integrity, and innovation within the Houston Office.
    • Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to IEI's core values of Integrity, Excellence, and Ingenuity.
    • Invest in the professional growth and development of team members, nurturing their talents and empowering them to reach their full potential.
    1. Strategic Planning & Execution:
    • Collaborate with firm leadership to develop and refine the strategic direction of the Houston Office.
    • Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans and initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
    • Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and adapt strategies as needed to drive sustainable growth and success.
    1. Operations Management:
    • Oversee day-to-day operations activities, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and adherence to quality standards.
    • Implement best practices and process improvements to optimize workflow and resource utilization.
    • Maintain a keen focus on client satisfaction, actively seeking feedback and addressing concerns to enhance service delivery.
    1. Business Development & Marketing:
    • Play a key role in shaping the office's business development strategy, identifying growth opportunities and cultivating client relationships.
    • Collaborate with marketing teams to enhance the office's visibility and reputation in the market.
    • Pursue strategic partnerships and alliances that bolster IEI's competitive position and market presence.
    1. Financial Performance & Risk Management:
    • Take ownership of financial performance metrics, monitoring budgets, revenue targets, and profitability margins.
    • Mitigate operational risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
    • Proactively identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue enhancement, and operational efficiency.
    1. Client Engagement & Satisfaction:
    • Champion a client-centric approach, prioritizing responsiveness, communication, and personalized service.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their needs and expectations to deliver tailored solutions.
    • Cultivate long-term relationships built on trust, reliability, and exceptional delivery.

    For candidates interested in the Vice President of Operations (VPOP) position at IEI's Houston Office, the following qualifications are necessary:

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university, or an approved equivalent.
    • A minimum of 10 years of industry-related experience.
    • At least three years of experience in upper management is required.

    Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

    • Active registered Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license is mandatory.
    • Additional certifications such as LEED AP, Certified Floodplain Manager, PTOE, etc., are desired.
    • Other relevant licensures or registrations that require Continuing Education for maintenance may be considered in lieu of a PE or SE license.

    Travel Requirements:

    • Frequent local travel is required for this position.
    • Moderate travel to other IEI offices and markets may also be necessary.
