    Description
    Summary

    Under thesupervision of the Physician Network President, the Physician Network BusinessManager is responsible for directing and coordinating the overall functions ofthe Physician Network Business Office to ensure maximization of cash flow whileimproving patient, physician, and other customer relations.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Registration FrontDesk
    • Provideoversight of the billing operations of the ambulatory clinics for the AVALAPhysician Network, performs overall revenue management including satisfyingtimely filing requirements and maximizing billing revenue and collections, andresolution of denied/rejected claims.
    • Workclosely with clinic managers and physicians on business office concerns andfunctions as a liaison to AVALA Physician Network Administration to review andmanage professional billing activities, production reports, and codingbenchmarking.
    • Reviewand advise the Director of Patient Financial Services, and President of thePhysician Network on revenue cycle issues and solutions. Demonstrates knowledgeof all features and functions of the revenue cycle management system.
    • Providesmonthly updates of revenue cycle status including reports, metrics, andpresentations. Works with Administration as needed to accomplish. Notifiesappropriate staff regarding any issues or concerns in a timely manner.
    Withother members of the management team, develop continuous processes andpriorities for quality improvement to improve revenue cycle outcomes.

    • Functionsas back up to concierge.
    • Otherduties as assigned.
    Professional Requirements
    • Meets dress code standards and adheres topolicies.
    • Completes annual education requirements.
    • Maintains regulatory requirements.
    • Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
    • Reports to work on time and as scheduled,completes work within designated time.
    • Wears identification while on duty, usescomputerized punch time system correctly.
    • Completes in-services and returns in a timelyfashion.
    • Attends annual review and departmentin-services, as scheduled.
    • Attends staff meetings annually, reads andreturns all monthly staff meeting minutes.
    • Represents the organization in a positive andprofessional manner.
    • Actively participates in performance improvementand continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
    • Complies with all organizational policiesregarding ethical business practices.
    • Communicates the mission, ethics, and goals ofthe hospital, as well as the focus statement of the department.
    • Promotes professional growth of subordinates bysharing knowledge and/or directing them to sources if information appropriateto given situation. Utilizes journals, books, etc. to learn and/or improve newtechniques and equipment.
    • Assists other staff members in performing anyduty that enhances the delivery of patient care.
    Qualifications and Skills
    • A bachelor's degree in a business or relatedfield or relevant experience with progressive development of responsibilities.
    • Minimum of five years business office managementexperience; prefer some experience as a department manager.
    • Proficiency in use of billing softwareapplications and general MS Office applications.
      • Experienceworking with all types of third-party payers. (HMO, PPO, Medicare, WorkersComp, Personal Injury etc.) and understanding billing requirements.
    • Excellent communication and organizationalskills.
    • Demonstrates accountability, integrity,professionalism, openness, receptive to change, creativity and innovative.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in English,both verbally and in writing.
    • Basic computer knowledge.
    Physical Demands

    The physicaldemands described here are representative of those that must be met by anemployee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Whileperforming the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talkand hear. This position is very active and requires repetitive motions, standing,walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day. The employee must frequentlylift or move items weighing up to 20 pounds.
