- Be the attorney's right hand, managing their calendar and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Review case files, update clients on status, and track upcoming deadlines.
- Assist in client meetings, pre-trial prep, hearings, and trial preparation.
- Maintain meticulous client files and ensure efficient case organization.
- Communicate effectively with clients and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
- Conduct in-depth legal research to support casework.
- Draft legal documents, including client correspondence and discovery materials.
- Proven experience within the North Carolina state court litigation system.
- A minimum of 2 years working with civil litigation cases.
- Hold a paralegal degree (2-year) or a college degree (4-year).
- Possess a strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Experience with formatting legal documents like discovery responses and objections.
- A keen eye for detail and a talent for managing deadlines for various legal tasks.
- Experience preparing motions for extensions and handling collections matters.
- Prior experience with trial preparation, including assembling notebooks and exhibits.
- Familiarity with scheduling depositions, mediations, and court motions across different counties.
