    This position is located within the Hearings Division of the Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH) and requires a variety of paralegal work assisting two Administrative Law Judges.

    Employee oversees all phases of a contested case beginning when a petition is filed with the OAH Clerk's Office, and thereafter using subject matter knowledge of Article 3 & 3A of Chapter 150B.


    This employee performs a wide variety of paralegal functions including drafting legal documents, gathering information, responding to motions, organizing data and research, and reviewing proposed orders and decisions.

    Editing judicial orders and decisions to eliminate typographical errors, grammatical and spelling errors, and citation form errors is an essential element of the position.


    • Basic knowledge of judicial and quasi-judicial procedures and the rules of evidence
    • Experience performing legal research

    Management preferences:

    • Experience drafting legal documents and ability to edit such documents for grammar, spelling, and citation errors
    • Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
    Graduation from an appropriately accredited institution for paralegal training

    OR

    Bachelor s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of substantive paralegal experience

    OR

    High school or General Education Development (GED) diploma and five years of paralegal experience performing delegated, substantive legal work


    OR
    an equivalent combination of education and experience
