    As a Watchmaker, you will be responsible for the intricate craft of repairing, servicing, and maintaining various types of watches. Your role will involve a combination of technical expertise, precision, and attention to detail to ensure that timepieces function accurately and reliably. Here's a detailed overview of the responsibilities and qualifications required for this position:

    Responsibilities:

    1. Watch Repair and Servicing: Disassemble, clean, lubricate, and reassemble watch movements to ensure optimal functionality. Repair or replace damaged components such as springs, gears, and jewels.
    2. Diagnosis: Identify issues or malfunctions in watches by conducting thorough inspections and diagnostics. Determine the necessary repairs or adjustments needed to restore functionality.
    3. Calibration and Adjustment: Adjust the timing, accuracy, and precision of watches by regulating mechanisms such as balance wheels and escapements. Calibrate chronographs, complications, and other specialized features as required.
    4. Restoration: Restore vintage or antique watches to their original condition by carefully repairing or replacing worn-out parts while preserving their historical integrity and value.
    5. Quality Control: Conduct rigorous testing and quality checks to verify the accuracy and performance of repaired or serviced watches. Ensure that all watches meet industry standards and customer expectations.
    6. Customer Service: Interact with customers to understand their specific requirements and preferences. Provide professional advice and recommendations regarding watch maintenance, repair options, and care instructions.
    7. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all watch repairs, including work performed, parts used, and associated costs. Generate repair estimates and invoices for customers accurately.
    8. Tool Maintenance: Properly maintain and care for specialized watchmaking tools and equipment to ensure their functionality and longevity. Keep workspaces clean, organized, and safe.

    Qualifications:

    1. Technical Expertise: Proficient knowledge of watch mechanics, including understanding of mechanical, automatic, and quartz movements. Experience with disassembly, assembly, and adjustment of various watch types and complications.
    2. Precision Skills: Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to perform delicate tasks with precision and accuracy. Ability to work under magnification and use specialized tools effectively.
    3. Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills to diagnose issues and develop effective solutions. Ability to troubleshoot complex watch problems and implement appropriate repairs.
    4. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to detect subtle imperfections and ensure the highest quality of workmanship. Ability to work meticulously while maintaining efficiency.
    5. Time Management: Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously. Flexibility to adapt to changing workloads and customer demands.
    6. Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact professionally with customers, colleagues, and suppliers. Ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
    7. Education and Training: Formal training in watchmaking from a recognized institution or apprenticeship program is preferred. Certification from organizations such as the American Watchmakers-Clockmakers Institute (AWCI) or the British Horological Institute (BHI) is advantageous.
    8. Experience: Previous experience working as a watchmaker or in a related field is highly desirable. Demonstrated proficiency in watch repair, servicing, and restoration techniques.
    9. Passion for Watches: Genuine passion for horology and appreciation for the artistry and craftsmanship of watches. Dedication to maintaining the integrity and heritage of each timepiece.
