- Oversee all aspects of Centro's educational programs.
- Participate in staff meetings.
- Develop content that is engaging and grasps the attention of viewers.
- Create presentations for a variety of educational subjects relevant to Centro's focus and events.
- Use diverse methods, resources, and teaching strategies to reach young and adult learners to build on the cultural and linguistic diversity of Puerto Ricans in the diaspora.
- Promote critical communication activities for interactive classroom management to empower authentic and high-quality lifelong learning experiences.

ABOUT CENTRO: The Center for Puerto Rican Studies at Hunter College, is a university-based research institute whose mission is to produce, facilitate, and disseminate interdisciplinary research about the experiences of Puerto Ricans in the U.S. and to collect, preserve, and provide access to archival and library resources documenting the history and culture of Puerto Ricans.
About the Position: This position will play a key role in reimagining Centro's existing Educational Programming and in developing and fundraising for new initiatives. The director will supervise a team of scholars and interns in the development of curricular material, study guides, and learning resources for students and adult learners. The Director will be charged with reimagining Centro's existing educational offerings and work directly with K-12, Higher Education, and professional school systems to create content, curriculum, and other tools that advance national understanding of Puerto Rican and Diasporican history, culture, economy, and more. In addition, the director of Educational Programs will work in partnership with other units in the creation of multimedia content and public programs and workshops with teachers. Ideal candidates will have experience in fundraising, advocacy, and collaboration with government agencies and representatives. The Director of Educational Programs reports directly to the Center Director.
