    About our Company:

    Life gathers around water in Texas, and Hotel Magdalena honors our spring-fed culture and the community that grows near it. The design of the 89-room hotel honors the local lake house ethos of the 1970s, situated amongst rolling grounds and natural beauty inspired by Texas. The Magdalena is home to a restaurant and poolside bar, and several other spaces for hosting events and hanging out. The hotel is located on Music Lane just off South Congress.

    Hotel Magdalena is proud to be a part of Bunkhouse, which is a hospitality company created by hotelier Liz Lambert that believes in inspired design, connection to place and the value of community. Bunkhouse has designed and developed a celebrated portfolio of hospitality projects including Hotel San Jos, Hotel Saint Cecilia, Austin Motel, and Jos Coffee in Austin, Hotel Havana and Ocho in San Antonio, El Cosmico in Marfa, Texas, The Phoenix in San Francisco, California, and Hotel San Cristobal in Baja, Mexico.

    We're Looking for Someone With:

    Bachelors degree in business administration or hospitality management - equivalent combination of education, training and experience may substitute for education requirements

    Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in hotel sales

    Understanding of hotel revenue management and financials.

    Ability to read and produce sales related reports.

    Strong communication, interpersonal and relation skills including guest incident follow up

    Maintains the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities

    Resourceful problem-solving skills

    Self-motivated, driven and task oriented

    Holds self and others accountable to consistently maintain high performance standards

    Strong work ethic with a high level of integrity and dedication to the values of the company

    Organized with a proven track record of setting priorities and problem solving while utilizing good judgment and effective decision-making

    Computer knowledge Microsoft Office and office skills required

    Ability to travel and change work schedule as needed

    Strong familiarity with hotel systems such as PMS and POS systems

    Fluency in multiple languages preferred

    Job Responsibilities:

    Achieves all established sales and profitability goals through the evaluation, solicitation, and selling of key markets for the hotel as designated.

    At as point person for clients from managed segments during the whole sales process, including whilst in-house and post stay.

    Oversee the Operations teams servicing of groups (including but not limited to entering rooming lists, billing, operational needs, etc).

    Achieves KPIs and other performance goals as set by the General Manager.

    Qualifies prospective leads from managed market segments, creates tailored proposals and responds in a timely manner to RFPs as designated by hotel. Identifying customer needs & opportunities to upsell property and maximize revenue.

    Conducts regular client entertainment including office meetings, virtual presentations, site inspections, tradeshows, networking events, etc.

    Produce accurate monthly sales reports, including the progress of booked business and key account performance. Maintain database of all leads and business opportunities, ensuring follow up and continued relationship growth.

    Seek out new business through market research providing appropriate & prompt follow up.

    Stays current on industry trends and seeks creative ways to infiltrate markets / accounts.

    Adheres to all departmental policies, service procedures and standards expected.

    Performs other tasks or projects as assigned.
