    Summary

    Cloud Operations Manager

    Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Operations Manager to lead and oversee our cloud infrastructure operations team. As a Cloud Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our cloud-based services.     Responsibilities:

    • Operational Leadership: Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the cloud infrastructure team, ensuring the continuous availability and performance of cloud services.
    • Team Management: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of cloud operations professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
    • Infrastructure Monitoring and Maintenance: Oversee the monitoring of cloud infrastructure performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues to maintain optimal service levels.
    • Incident Management: Develop and implement incident response procedures, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and minimizing impact on business operations.
    • Capacity Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct capacity planning and scalability assessments, ensuring the infrastructure can support current and future business needs.
    • Security and Compliance: Work closely with the security team to implement and enforce security measures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
    • Automation and Efficiency: Drive initiatives for automation and efficiency improvements in cloud operations, leveraging Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and other relevant technologies.
    • Cost Management: Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising performance or security.
    • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Develop and maintain robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans for cloud-based services.
    • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Ensure comprehensive documentation of cloud architecture, processes, and configurations, and promote knowledge sharing within the team.

    Qualifications:

    • 7+ years of experience in cloud operations, with a focus on managing complex cloud environments, with minimum 4 years experience working with Azure.
    • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
    • Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and hands-on experience with cloud services, virtualization, and containerization technologies.
    • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation tools.
    • Experience managing High Availability/Fault Tolerant Systems
    • Experience working in an Agile SCRUM environment
    • Excellent troubleshooting, technical problem-solving skills, and decision-making abilities
    • Experience with monitoring tools.
    • Experience with Windows and Linux platforms
    • Good working knowledge of Azure Policy and understanding of cloud governance.
    • Proficient at multitasking and proactive in work responsibilities
    • Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security measures in cloud environments.
    • Familiarity with incident response procedures and capacity planning.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    • Certification in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Azure Administrator) is a plus.

    Additional Skills:

    • Working knowledge of at least one configuration management tool, such as Ansible, Chef, and/or Puppet
    • Working experience with JavaScript Frameworks (Angular), RESTful APIs, JSON and XML
    • Experience with Kubernetes, automating its deployment and configuration (manifests/helm/Docker/etc.)
    • Possess an understanding of system testing including platform, integration, load testing.
    • Ability to write technical documentation (platform architecture, strategy, etc.)
    • Ability to work on multiple concurrent complex projects and to coordinate the work of others in the cloud environment.

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
    Job Duty

    Software Development Management

    • Lead project planning and sizing activities, identify resource requirements, and oversee a team of internal and external resources capable of producing specified deliverables
    • Create and maintain an software development project plan that communicates tasks, milestone dates, status, and resource allocation
    • Identify and communicate major milestones and risks to achieving those milestones in a positive manner
    • Coordinate delivery of development (beta) and production releases that meet quality assurance standards
    • Manage software development projects around the BI platform to ensure quality, on time, within budget delivery from requirement definition through testing, rollout, and support
    • Perform work breakdown and task identification, assign tasks to project resources, track progress on assigned tasks, and manage the assembly of completed tasks into coherent deliverables

    Technical Leadership

    • Architect, design, develop, test, and deploy code for business intelligence and database technology platforms
    • Plan and execute efforts to address technical debt for legacy systems and processes
    • Share acquired skills/knowledge with team members and mentor junior engineers
    • Collaborate with test team in creating a Quality Assurance strategy for supporting both new and legacy BI systems
    • Develop and enforce development best practices
    • Lead code reviews and technical exchange sessions
    • Manage the development and maintenance of technical documents

    End User Support

    • Create a user support structure that addresses user requests with minimal impact on ongoing project work
    • Manage user training and onboarding activities.
    • Perform technical liaison functions to all clients/customers

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    Direct Reports
    - Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

    Indirect Reports
    - May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

    Travel and/or Driving Requirements:

    Minimum Qualifications

    The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job
    Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

    Field of Study/Area of Experience: computer science, engineering or related education/professional work experience
    - 6+ years of significant experience with SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS
    - 6+ years of relevant experience with Systems Analysis and documentation
    - Deep knowledge of related technologies such as SSAS, Microsoft and third party BI tools, .NET
    - Current experience presenting technical solutions to business and technical audiences
    - Experience leading software development teams through all phases of the SDLC
    - Experience managing business clients or customers
    - Advanced communication, organization, and project management skills
    - SCRUM Master and working within an Agile process a plus
    - Prior consulting experience is a big plus

    • Experience architecting systems and leading a small team in a Microsoft BI development environment:

    • SharePoint
    • Third party BI visualization and end user tools
    • Working knowledge of related systems and platforms:.NET, Active Directory, BizTalk, Dynamics and application architecture

    Environmental & Physical Requirements:

    Office / Sedentary Requirements: Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
