  • Job Description:
  • Rowe Elementary School seeks a dedicated professional with an appreciation for its mission. Under direct supervision of the Principal, the Operations Manager serves as a leader for all operational aspects of the school.

Rowe Elementary/Middle School is a stand alone charter school, with a K-5 campus, and a 6-8 campus. Both campuses are located in the West Town/Wicker Park area of Chicago. Beginning next fall, we will reconfigure our campuses to be K-3 and 4-8.

    Key Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Oversees core tasks of the Operations for Rowe Elementary School.
  • Maintain accurate budget records by collaborating with Accounting to ensure invoices, payments, purchase orders are accurate and completed on time.
  • Collaborate with Accounting on CGA and all other funding.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure consultants and stipends are maintained according to the approved budget.
  • Responsible for food program, including annual training for teachers.
  • Collaborate weekly with the Rowe Leadership team to ensure timelines are met and responsibilities are taken care of.
  • Ability to build the new school year in July through Aspen, includes: assign roles/classrooms to teachers, assign classrooms/schedules to scholars, add/withdraw scholars, verify transfers, ensuring progress reports and report cards are generated and distributed on time.
  • Collaborates with Dir. of Student Recruitment on organization, collection, and updating of current student records and fees.
  • Work with nurses/clerks to organize/implement mandatory screening for hearing, vision, dental.
  • Oversees staff absences, approves timesheets in electronic timekeeping software, includes working with sub agencies to ensure coverage for planned and unplanned absences.
  • Work with teachers to plan field trips, including buses and chaperones/volunteer background checks.
  • Coordinate Rowe's picture day and yearbook by working with photography company, parents, and staff.
  • Responsible for verifying nurse timesheets and assisting scholars with medication and injuries when a nurse is not available.
  • Conducts in house drills, lockdowns and evacuations by working with CPD and CFD.
  • Assists EL team with home language survey.
  • Maintains student records, including transfers and medical to ensure Rowe meets compliance for audits.
  • Works with maintenance regarding building/classroom needs.
  • Collaborate with IT to upkeep technology equipment/supplies, including online programs, internet, staff/student computers and IT updates.
  • Meets with clerks on a weekly basis regarding tasks and ability to support if needed.
  • Performs other duties and functions as assigned by the Principal/Assistant Principal.

Education/Experience:


  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University.
  • Experience with compliance and school budgets.
  • Bilingual, English and Spanish preferred.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:


  • Fulltime/40 hours.
